Bath, North Carolina
Bath, North Carolina is a lovely,
quaint historic village built on a peninsula offering
residents breathtaking sunsets, lazy summer days, and
year round activities on the beautiful creeks, rivers
and sounds of Eastern North Carolina.
Bath is
the oldest incorporated town in North Carolina dating
its incorporation to 1705. It is a North Carolina State
Historic Site. Bath is the home of the famous pirate,
Blackbeard, as well as Saint Thomas Episcopal Church,
the oldest remaining church building in the State of
North Carolina built in 1734.
The
enormous expanse of navigable water in the Sound,
rivers, coves, and inlets that provided safe haven for
the colonial privateers provides the unique tidewater
setting for residents today.
Bath has
two marinas providing docking and mooring services for
yachts, both motor and sail, and is within fifteen miles
of the Intercoastal Waterway providing safe inland
passage for yachts from Virginia to Florida. The sailing
season extends ten months.

as the name implies, is a beautiful haven for
boaters. The town is the first port from the Inland
Waterway. There are docking facilities and boat

Pungo District Hospital is located in Belhaven. It is a 40 bed hospital with
fine operating room facilities and a respiratory
rehabilitation facility.

someone in Washington has a cocktail party and 1,500
people show up!”
